Transmission Planning Engineer - Australia 


 3 to 5 years Microwave radio link planning and design experience 
 Ability to plan Access Transmission Dark Fibre/SDH Microwave Radio Networks 
 Suitable experience with Ethernet planning
 Transmission configuration experience using Network Manager Systems
 Plan/Analyse circuit routes, identifying and requesting details as appropriate 
 Quality checks of all data/connectivity and information prepared before issue to the vendor to ensure that network errors are kept to a minimum. 
 Experience with point of Interconnect planning and implementation will be useful but not essential
 Ensure that all planning databases and the network are consistent. Update, audit, maintain and create data for the radio and transmission network. 
 Work closely with other departments to support optimisation activities and data/connectivity related discrepancies and faults. 
 Provide weekly updates on current work, issues and constraints. 

Essential Requirements

 Knowledge of Transport network planning tools
 Understanding of Transport networks and NMS systems in a mobile network environment
 Computer literate and competent with MS Office suite applications, Project and Visio/AutoCAD
 Customer Intimate, and able to mentor staff
 Awareness of business goals, direction and strategy
 Strong written and oral communication skills
 Tertiary qualification preferably in electronic, electrical/communications engineering or equivalent.
